Wpromote is hiring a Junior Data Scientist who loves solving problems with data and has strong math, logic, and communication skills. You'll support data processing, model updates, and analytics reporting while learning advanced techniques that will grow your impact over time. You'll collaborate with teams across Engineering, Reporting, Product, Paid Media, and Data Science, working with exciting clients in e-commerce, retail, and entertainment.
Responsibilities
- Learn to transform, improve, and integrate data according to business requirements.
- Plan and scope end-to-end data analysis projects by identifying the business problem and selecting appropriate tests and solutions.
- Use SQL and BigQuery to combine and prepare datasets from multiple sources.
- Deliver data in a clear, useful, and visually appealing way to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Maintain existing media-mix models through directed retrains and report on performance changes.
- Conduct guided marketing analyses to support client and internal needs.
- Support presentations through data pulls, ad-hoc analyses, and slide creation.
- Learn to automate data gathering, blending, and transformation processes.
- Collaborate across Engineering, Reporting, Product, Paid Media, and Data Science teams.
Requirements
- Intermediate programming skills in R or Python for data cleaning, data modeling, pipeline development, and API calls.
- Experience with statistical modeling, machine learning techniques, and LLMs.
- Intermediate SQL skills, including window functions, stored procedures, views, triggers, unions, CTEs, subqueries, and debugging.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and/or Google Sheets.
- Experience with at least one BI platform (Looker, Tableau, Power BI, etc.).
- Experience or familiarity with version control tools such as Git or Bitbucket.
- Intermediate to advanced competency in statistics, probability, and linear algebra.
- Strong communication skills, including creating and delivering presentations.
- Associate's degree, bootcamp certification, or practical work experience in a quantitative field.
