About the Role

Ukio is looking for a Junior Backend Engineer to help design, develop, and deploy platform features that improve the customer experience. You will contribute to automation and integrations, write clean code, and collaborate with product, design, and engineering teammates to deliver reliable backend systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy backend features for the Ukio platform.
• Build automation and integrations that improve operational efficiency.
• Write maintainable code and participate in code reviews.
• Analyze performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize scalability.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers on solutions.
• Stay curious about new tools and contribute ideas for improvements.

Requirements

• 2-3 years of backend engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with a dynamically typed language (Elixir/Phoenix or similar such as Python or Ruby).
• Proficiency with SQL and comfort in AWS environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Clear communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Fluent in English, written and spoken.
