Junior Fullstack Engineer (Ruby on Rails, JavaScript)

About the Role

SerpApi is looking for a Junior Fullstack Engineer to design, maintain, fix, deploy, and monitor APIs, features, and documentation that power search data integration for web applications. You will work in a remote-first team using Ruby on Rails, MongoDB, and JavaScript, deploying services on Linux servers in AWS.

Responsibilities

• Design APIs, solutions, and features that integrate with SerpApi products.
• Investigate issues deeply and become a subject-matter expert on specific problems.
• Publish clear, polished, and well-tested code through PR workflows.
• Review pull requests and collaborate with other engineers.
• Troubleshoot customer-reported issues and deliver fixes.
• Prioritize tasks from private and public roadmaps.
• Test solutions thoroughly before production deployments.
• Write technical blog posts about APIs and engineering solutions.

Requirements

• Entry-level experience with Ruby on Rails and JavaScript.
• Familiarity with MongoDB and building web applications.
• Comfort working with Linux servers and AWS infrastructure.
• Experience using GitHub and participating in code review workflows.
• Ability to test software and document solutions clearly.
• Strong communication skills across async tools (Slack, Zoom).
• Good task prioritization and troubleshooting mindset.
• Bonus: exposure to proxies, CAPTCHA solving, scraping, or browser tech.
